Children's Program
Helping the Smallest Victims of Family Violence
Children make up about half of the clients that we serve. Noah Project has programs that can help kids deal with growing up in a violent environment, whether they have been hurt themselves or have watched it happen to someone they love.
Meet kids' emotional needs:
- Weekly children's support group
- Helps kids cope with family violence and its effects
- Reinforces the child's self-esteem
- Provides positive role models
Maintains the education of our resident children
- When safe, kids are transported back to their home school
- On-site tutoring is provided to kids in the shelter
- Educational resources such as computers, school supplies, and homework help are provided
Educates children about family violence
- Provides safety-planning information to kids in violent homes
- Teaches kids about how to identify and avoid violent relationships
- Teaches kids that abuse in relationships is not normal
Provides activities for kids in the shelter
- The shelter has a large playroom and outdoor playground, as well as plenty of books and toys.
- Children's groups meet regularly for arts and crafts, play, and other activities.
- Our Summer Children's Program provides daily activities and field trips for children who are in the shelter while school is out.
